Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating SystemTM encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
LEED is a certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
To increase energy efficiency and encourage the economical use of power Britton Electric includes LEED specifications in our proposals.
We are proud to have worked on numerous LEED projects including Les Pavillons Lassonde at Université de Montréal’s École Polytechnique. These were the first buildings in the province of Québec to follow this internationally recognized state-of-the-art construction.
More recently, Britton Electric was chosen as the electrical contractor for the expansion of Walter Surface Technologies, a certified Gold LEED project.
As well, we combine our design-build expertise on numerous LEED projects including:
- Centre for Sustainable Development /La Maison du développement durable (Platinum LEED Certification); a building that will be one of the most ecological in Canada and a hub for proponents of sustainable development.
- Dollarama Head Office (Gold LEED Certification); the leading dollar store operator in Canada.
- SICO Office and Warehouse (Silver LEED Certification); the largest company in Canada specializing in the development, manufacture and marketing of paints, coatings and related products.
- Kraft Foods Canada, Warehouse and Distribution Centre in Vaudreuil; (Silver LEED Certification).
