President and CEO

Perry Britton is President and CEO of Britton Electric, a position that he has held since 1978. Mr. Britton directs the overall strategic direction of the business, developing long-term strategies to maintain the company’s leading position in the marketplace. Reading the economic environment and identifying business potential, Mr. Britton ensures that the Company is ready to respond to all opportunities.

As the industry evolves, he works closely with his management team so that Britton Electric is always at the leading edge in the delivery of technical services. Known for his ‘solution-style’ approach to business challenges, Mr. Britton strives to find innovative answers in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Mr. Britton is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, having earned a Bachelor of Science in electric power engineering and an MBA in 1978, pursuing both degrees concurrently. He was awarded the Ricketts Prize, given to a graduate who ‘demonstrated outstanding ability in academic work and gives promise of outstanding professional success’. Mr. Britton was also a member of Tau Beta Pi, The Engineering Honours Society.

Shortly after graduation at the age of 21 and following the passing of the Company’s founder, the late Harvey I. Britton, he took over the reigns of the business. The younger Mr. Britton emphasized a customer-centric business model thereby solidifying ‘customer service first and foremost’ into the company’s culture and strengthening the foundation on which the company had been established. Up until the mid-1990s he practiced a hands-on approach and spent much of his time, on-site at jobs, actively involved in all of the Company’s projects. In addition to his current day-to-day responsibilities, Mr. Britton continues to maintain close contact with many of the company’s clients.

Today, Britton Electric is recognized as the leading electrical contractor in the province of Québec, a position that has been maintained for over 30 years.

Mr. Britton is active in a number of charitable organizations and is the 2009 Co-chair of the Week-end to End Breast Cancer in Montréal. He has been a member of YPO since 1990 and his hobbies include travel, skiing and scuba diving. Mr. Britton and his spouse head up a blended family of five children.
