Robert Britton
In his role as President of Britton Electric, Robert Britton oversees the day-to-day operations of the Company and is responsible for implementation and execution of the organization’s strategy. He is a strong believer that people and culture are at the core of how the Company delivers results for its clients and strives to continuously strengthen the team as a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Prior to serving as President, Robert held a wide variety of positions in the Company over several years. He started his career at Britton Electric working in the field as an apprentice electrician in addition to working in the warehouse, finance, estimating and engineering departments. In 2016 he was appointed Director of Special Projects to oversee the modernization and digitization of the Company’s systems and business processes. Robert took on the leadership of the Service and Technical Division’s operations as Director in 2018 and was appointed Vice President, Service and Technical, in 2020. In 2022 he assumed responsibility for several other operating departments and was named Executive Vice President.
Robert’s other experience within the industry includes several technical and leadership roles at engineering and construction firms in Canada and the US. He is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario and the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
Robert earned his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering at McGill University in 2011, where he pursued specialized studies at the institut en génie de l’énergie électrique (IGEE). He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto where he was named to the Dean’s List in 2014 and 2015 and received the Andrew Alexander Kinghorn Fellowship and the Optimum Talent Human Resource Management Award in Leadership.
Robert is an avid kayaker, skier and cyclist. He captains the Company’s team for Le Week-End Pour Combattre le Cancer, a charity bike ride raising funds for cancer research at the Jewish General Hospital.
