Position Summary :

We are seeking an IT Technician for a 3-to-6-month temporary contract to cover a parental leave.

The primary responsibility of this role is to handle various user requests regarding the use of hardware, office software, and management applications. Secondary tasks include preparing, configuring, distributing, and replacing employee cell phones, tablets, and computers.

Please note: This is not a network technician or programmer position.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • First Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for employee IT support (Helpdesk Level 1): diagnose, resolve, or escalate issues related to hardware, software, and access permissions.

  • Ticket Management: Log and follow up on all service requests in the ticketing system; ensure tickets are updated throughout their lifecycle.

  • Escalation: Escalate requests that exceed the scope of Level 1 support.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Plan and schedule preventive maintenance in coordination with the electricians.

  • Hardware Deployment: Prepare, configure, and distribute IT equipment (computers, cell phones, tablets).

  • Inventory Control: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment, both in stock and deployed (assigned to employees).

  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT processes (user guides, support procedures, standard configurations).

Note: System administration activities account for less than 1% of the role’s daily tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Workstation environments (Windows 10 and 11).

  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments (Active Directory, GPO, etc.).

  • Good understanding of network environments (hardware, protocols, rules).

  • Willingness to learn new operational software.

  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing priorities.

  • 3 years of experience in IT technical support (Helpdesk / Level 1-2).

  • Autonomous, proactive, and strongly focused on user collaboration.

  • Language Skills: Fluent French (spoken and written) is mandatory; functional English is required (reading technical documentation and occasional written communication).

  • Education: Minimum AEC (Attestation of College Studies) in Computer Science.

  • Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours/week

  • Monday to Friday

  • 100% on-site

  • 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
